Ghodepani Poon Hill Sunrise Trekking is the short, colourful and relatively easy trek, is undoubtedly one of the most amazing trekking destinations which offers impressive natural scenery, marvelous views of Annapurna south 7219m, Dhaulagiri (8167m), Machhapuchchhre(Fishtail 6993m) and Himchuli (6441m). One can get the lifetime chance to see some of the most dramatic views of some of the highest and most beautiful mountains in the world including pristine forests, diversity of flora and fauna encounter with the warm heartedness of the simple people whose rich and varied customs give you an insight into the typical life style of Gurung and Magar people.

On the way of trekking you are sure to encounter the legendary Gurkha soldiers who had served in the Gurkha Army during the World Wars in many countries. The main attraction of Ghorepani trekking is Poon Hill. It has the best  sunrise view and sunset view with a colorful mountain situated at an altitude of 3210m, the most spectacular mountain spot on earth.

 

Itinerary

16th July (Day 1) :-  Drive to  Kimche village  from pokhara, 2 hours  continue  trek to Tadapani village (2630m) for 6 hours, Explore Gurung Village  (Lunch and Dinner)

      Ghandruk Village

17th July ( Day 2) :-  Trek to Ghorepani (2860m) walking 6/7 hours overnight stay in Lodge (Breakfast, Lunch &  Dinner)

18th July (Day 3):-  Early morning  hike to Poonhill (3210m) an hours  and continue trek to Hile (1430m)  walking 5 hours and drive to Pokhara 2.5 hours  (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)             Ullery Village 1960m

Trek Equipment Preparing

In order to fully enjoy you’re trekking and climbing tour in the Himalayas, or any other trek in the Nepal, having the right equipment is essential. The equipment is necessary depends on the type of trekking, tea-house or camping, and on the time of year, weather conditions, terrain, and maximum altitude.

A properly packed backpack is light and includes multipurpose clothing items. Moreover, please make sure that you bring sufficiently warm clothes, especially during winter (Dec – Feb). Not having the required equipment and clothing will not only significantly decrease the pleasure of trekking, but could in a worst case scenario be life threatening. Below is a list of suggested clothing and equipment items to bring:

  • Pair of polarizing sun-glasses (to be comfortable and to avoid potential snow-blindness)
  • Backpack 35  / 45  ltr for Carrying your stuff during  Ghodepani Poon Hill Trekking
  • Head torch, or small torch, plus spare batteries
  • Sleeping bag and silk liner (4 seasons)
  • 2 x water bottles or camel bag but avoid cheap ones that can burst inside your backpack
